Summary
On March 3, 2023, DigiCert switched their root and intermediate certificates from DigiCert Global Root CA to their second-generation DigiCert Global Root G2 certificate. For more information, see DIGICERT ROOT AND INTERMEDIATE CA CERTIFICATE UPDATES 2023.
AppDynamics updated the SSL certificates starting with .saas.appdynamics.com to use the second-generation certificates on August 8, 2023. This resulted in the disconnect of some application agents from SaaS Controllers due to their inability to recognize the new certificate. To resolve this issue, AppDynamics re-issued the SSL certificate using the older DigiCert Global Root CA certificates.
To prevent any disruption of service, customers using agent custom trust stores are advised to install the additional DigiCert root certificates and the IdenTrust certificate before 31 May 2025.
Affected Software
AppDynamics SaaS customers using:
- Custom trust stores for their application agents that only include the DigiCert Global Root CA certificate.
- Custom configurations of a trusted SSL certificate.
Impact
Customers who do not have the DigiCert Global Root G2 certificate in their agent custom trust stores might experience agent disconnects.
Resolution
AppDynamics will renew the .saas.appdynamics.com SSL certificates again on 10 June 2025, using the DigiCert Global Root G2 certificate.
To prevent any disruption of service, the customers using agent custom trust stores are advised to install the additional DigiCert root certificates and the IdenTrust certificate before 31 May 2025.For more information on how to install and configure these certificates, see:
